A journey worth a thousand memories
"Thank you for the big and little wows you gave us this year."
That’s the word that best sums up 2017 for us at Thoughtwell. Of course, we started the year as Community Research Partners. So, wow, doing a complete rebrand is a lot of work (and a lot of fun). Many thanks to Fulcrum Creatives for their amazing work to create our new identity.
And brand identity wasn’t our only big transition. Because of new jobs and other opportunities, some of our team moved on; we were sad to see them go, but happy for them as they embarked on new adventures. And, wow, that gave us the opportunity to bring on lots of enthusiastic and talented new staff. Curtis, Bruce, Kathryn, Lathania, Genna, and Graham all joined the team in 2017. Staff meetings are getting a little bit louder and a whole lot funnier.
But most of all, we continue to be appreciative of, and honored by, the work we get to do on behalf of our clients. A few highlights this year include Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies’ (OACAA) State of Poverty, the City of Columbus’ newly formed Women’s Commission Briefing Book, and the Youth Needs Assessment Birth – 12, supported by Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services, Franklin County Children Services, Action for Children, The Columbus Foundation, Future Ready Columbus, Ohio State University Early Head Start, the United Way of Central Ohio, and the YMCA of Central Ohio. (Talk about wow – eight different funders working together to be coordinated and efficient in their assessment of youth needs, not to mention their allocation of resources!)
But the biggest wow of all is how excited we are about our future. We want to grow, so that we can do more. We want to do more to help others be aware of data, and understand how to use data to inform their decision-making. We want to do more fee-for-service projects – evaluations and assessments and profiles - because we can make just enough to underwrite a few more pro bono projects every year. And we want to continue to build and strengthen relationships, because we believe the future is bright when we listen, respect, collaborate, and care.
Thank you for the big and little wows you gave us this year. We hope you’ll stay with us for 2018 and we wish you all the best for a healthy, happy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year!
