City of Columbus and Franklin County Consolidated Plan 2015-2019
Thoughtwell prepared a new 5-year Consolidated Plan for the City of Columbus and Franklin County, Ohio, which is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Both Consolidated Plans are the result of a collaborative process to identify housing and community development needs and to establish goals, priorities, and strategies to address those needs, especially for low and moderate income households. Thoughtwell conducted a large scale community survey to collect data on housing status, issues, and priorities. In addition, Thoughtwell collected and analyzed secondary data to create a community profile, housing profile, and a facilities and services profile. Thoughtwell also mapped slum/blight in the community and engaged local stakeholders in the planning process. The City and County’s consolidated planning process served as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to better focus funding from HUD formula block grant programs to meet local needs.
