Health and Equity in all Policies

Health in All Policies (HiAP) is a change in the systems that determine how decisions are made and implemented by local, state, and federal governments to ensure that policy decisions have neutral or beneficial impacts on the determinants of health. Building on this concept, the Ohio Public Health Association (OPHA) is advocating for the adoption of a statewide initiative that seeks to create a regulatory review system that ensures health and equity considerations are embedded in decision-making processes across a wide range of sectors.   This study also explored potential links with, and lessons learned from, both health and non-health policies that demonstrate potential impacts on health and equity.
