Each year, HandsOn Central Ohio receives thousands of referrals, connecting families to needed social services ranging from food pantries, to healthcare, to housing and utility needs. The latter referrals come as housing costs rise in Columbus and across the nation, consuming a greater share of family budgets. More income for housing means less income for other necessities, which could lead to cutting back or the need for referrals to other social service help.
